Life Span: Terriers usually have a life span of 11 to 15 years. And it also depends on the amount of love and care you give them.
Colour: Black and Tan, Black and Gold, Blue and Gold, Blue and Tan (very rare)
Coat: Their hair resembles like humans hair. Beautiful long and silky coat. They have a unique hair as compare of other cannies. And it makes very good choice for people who have fur allergies.
If you are planning to keep their hair long it will need brushing daily. And keep their hair away from their eyes by cutting it short or tie a knot up.
Eyes: According to AKC a yorkie must have a black, brown or hazel eyes. In very condition they will have blue or green eyes.
They are more prone to get eye infections. Clean the corner of their eye with cotton or tissus.
Size and Structure: Yorkie have Height: 7-8 inches. (Adult)
And weight of 3.5 to 5 kgs in Adult.
They are small in size and have a beautiful structure. More Furry on the skull and face.
Mostly used for: Yourshire Terrier do well at every thing. They are mostly very good at agility and is very good travel partner. Now it's well know as lap dog of Victoria Modles.
They are very good with kids.
How to Train: Well they are small and very energetic and can be trained very easily. They obey their owners. And will respond to your training quickly.
Treat based training is good as thise small poochs will go very well with it.
Stick to a schedule for training them.
They need high quality Nutritions food either it's home food with vet supervision or any dry food availabe. And a daily exercise with it is must as most of them tend to get over weight. Clean and fresh water shuld be availbe all the time.
Yorkie are healthy breed but being a responsible owner is very important. If you feel any changes in their behaviour or health vist your vet.
Never self examine and treat them.
Before the official Name given to Yorkie, this breed was called the Broken Haired Scotch Terrier. However, by the 1970s the Yorkie took it's rightful place as a toy breed in AKC.
